JR Trains Affected by Heavy Snowfall in Tokyo and Surrounding Areas
Due to heavy snowfall in the Kanto region and northern area, JR companies announced on February 5th that there is a forecast of significant snowfall even in the flat areas, including the 23 wards of Tokyo.
In regions expecting heavy snow, there is a possibility of extensive and prolonged delays or cancellations in public transportation, including Shinkansen and express trains.

You can take any open seats in unreserved cars of any train on the departure date. (No departure time will be indicated on your tickets.)
The best seat type if your priority is the cost and are traveling during less-crowded season/time.
