Due to the impact of heavy rain, train services had been suspended. However, at 2:10 PM, the JR have started resuming services gradually from trains that were already in operation.
There may be further train cancellations or changes in destinations. It is expected to take some time for normal operations to resume.
Depending on the rain situation, there is also a possibility of cancelling operations for the rest of the day.

Despite the impact of Typhoon No.7, the Tokaido Shinkansen was scheduled to operate as usual today on August 16th. However, as of 10:30 AM on August 16th, the operations are currently suspended in the following section:
Suspended/Delayed Section:
(Upward) Hakata - Hiroshima - Shin-Osaka - Kyoto - Nagoya - Tokyo
(Downward) Tokyo - Nagoya
Cause/Reason: Rain restriction. Rain continues to fall in Shizuoka area.
It is expected to take some time for operations to resume.
