Typhoon No. 7, an extremely powerful storm, is forecasted to make landfall in mainland Japan on August 16. Due to the expected strong winds and heavy rainfall warnings, some Shinkansen and Limited Express train operations have been planned to be suspended.
JR Central has already announced that all operations of the Tokaido Shinkansen between Tokyo and Nagoya will be canceled today.
Additionally, only a few special trains will be operating every hour between Nagoya and Shin-Osaka.
