How to get Mt.Fuji from Kyoto?

If you want to visit around Mt.Fuji on the way to Tokyo from Kyoto by Shinkansen train, there are two routes to reach around Mt.Fuji.

- Get off at Shin-Fuji station ( nearer to Kyoto station )

- Get off at Mishima station ( the next stop of Shin-Fuji from Kyoto station )

If you want to climb Mt.Fuji from “Fujinomiya Trail 5th station”, you can go there by Fujikyuko express bus for about 2 hours 5 minutes ride.

 

 

 

- Visiting around Fuji Five Lakes ( Fujigoko )?

Mt.Fuji with Kawaguchiko

If you want to visit and enjoy the beautiful scenery with the beautiful lakes, you can visit there by bus also from this station. The buses by Fujikyuko are operating three times per day, and they bring you to Kawaguchiko station by about 2 hours ride. From there, you can change to Sightseeing Bus operated by Fujikyuko to be feel beautiful Mt.Fuji closer, such as “Kawaguchiko sightseeing Bus”, “Saiko sightseeing bus” and “Mount Fuji World Heritage Loop Bus” .

After enjoying Mt.Fuji, you can return to Tokyo by Fujikaiyu from Kawaguchiko station to Shinjuku station.

If you don’t have much time but you want to see Mt.Fuji closer than the window of your Shinkansen train, you can visit “Mishima Sky Walk ( Japanese longest Suspension bridge: http://mishima-skywalk.jp/pdf/english_pamph_2018.pdf )” by local bus ( 20 minutes ride ) from JR Mishima station and see the beautiful mountain from the bridge.

Or if you want to see the beautiful mountain closer, you can take Fujikyuko Bus (Mishima/Kawaguchiko Liner Express Bus) from Mishima station to Kawaguchiko station. Ordinary Seat

Regular seats used on Reserved cars and Unreserved cars of Shinkansen. Consider it as "economy class" seat.

Green Seat

Better seats with more space than ordinary seats. All Green Seats are reserved only. Consider it as "business class" seats.

Reserved Seat (Ordinary Reserved Seat)

Your seat is reserved and secured when you book your tickets. Head to the station with a peace of mind.
Seats are the same as Ordinary Seat.

Green Reserved Seat

Better seats and free blankets. Popular among Japanese business persons, executives and people who values comfortable travel. Consider it as "business class" seats.

GranClass Seat

Know as "First Class" of Shinkansen seats. Only available on Hokuriku and Tohoku Shinkansen lines. Gran Class seats comes with airline-like amenities and meals.The most expensive of all.

Unreserved Seat

You can take any open seats in unreserved cars of any train on the departure date. (No departure time will be indicated on your tickets.)
The best seat type if your priority is the cost and are traveling during less-crowded season/time.
