Miyajima is easily accessible from Hiroshima Station, which is served by the Shinkansen Nozomi. Take the JR Sanyo Line from Hiroshima Station, and it takes about 30 minutes to reach Miyajima-guchi Station. From Miyajima-guchi Station, it's a 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal. The ferry ride to Miyajima takes approximately 10 minutes.
If you're staying in Hiroshima, it's highly recommended to enjoy a day trip from Kyoto or Osaka to explore both Hiroshima and Miyajima. You can reach Hiroshima in about 1.5 hours by Shinkansen Nozomi from both Kyoto and Shin-Osaka.
